Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix had an early aptitude for athletics when she was studying at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic ability at the at the time. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003 signed a sports contract with Adidas. Then she attended an institution called the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for the 200m race in 22.18 secs. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007 she defended the title by beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently within the top three throughout her races during the Olympics which took place during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
